Questions people ask
How much does a Shopify developer cost in Nigeria?
Mine are published, not quoted after a discovery call. A Shopify build starts at ₦500,000 and runs to ₦1,000,000 depending on the catalogue and how much custom design it needs. Premium builds start at ₦1,000,000. If your budget is under that, the ₦250,000 Starter is a hand-coded site with WhatsApp ordering, and you can move up to Shopify later without starting again.
Can customers pay with a Nigerian card on the store?
Yes. I set up a Nigerian payment gateway on the store so customers pay in Naira with the cards they already use. That is included in Standard and Premium. Which gateway depends on your business, and I tell you the fees before anything is set up.
Can you move my existing store to Shopify?
Yes, and it is one of the most common things I am asked for. Wix, WordPress, WooCommerce, Selar, a coded site, or a Shopify store somebody else set up badly. Products, images, pages and your domain all come across, and you keep trading while it happens. Migration is included from the Standard package up.
Do I need a Shopify expert, or can I set it up myself?
You can set a Shopify store up yourself. Plenty of people do, and if you have the time it is a reasonable choice. What you are paying me for is the part a theme does not do: a design that looks like your brand rather than a template, product pages built to actually sell, and someone who has done it a hundred times deciding what goes above the fold.
Shopify or WooCommerce?
I build on both and I do not have a religion about it. Shopify is less to maintain and I recommend it for most businesses. WooCommerce makes sense when you already run on WordPress and want to keep it, or when you need something unusual that Shopify charges an app subscription for. Do you only work with businesses in Nigeria?
No. I am based in Offa, Kwara State, and I work with brands in the US, UK and EU as well. Nigerian and African businesses get Naira pricing and WhatsApp as the main way to reach me.
