Should I use Replo or Shogun?

Choose Replo if you are a smaller team optimising paid landing pages and want testing built in. Choose Shogun if you are a larger operation that needs many people publishing pages with permissions and process around them.

These two get compared constantly because they occupy a similar price shelf, but they were built for different company shapes. Replo assumes one or two people who care about conversion. Shogun assumes a team where somebody has to approve things.

What does Shogun do that Replo does not?

  • Heavier team and workflow features, which matter once several people publish to the same store
  • A longer track record, which matters to some buyers more than the feature list does
  • Broader internationalisation handling on the higher tiers

What does Replo do that Shogun does not?

  • A/B testing built into the builder, rather than bolted on as a separate app and separate bill
  • A design canvas that a designer can work in without fighting a widget system
  • Revenue analytics tied to the page, so you can see which variant actually earned

Which one costs more?

Shogun becomes more expensive faster, because its higher tiers are priced against traffic volume. Replo is priced against published pages and sections instead, so cost scales with how much you build rather than how many people visit.

That difference is worth thinking about before you commit. A store with a handful of high-traffic pages is punished by traffic-based pricing and barely noticed by page-based pricing. A store with a hundred pages and modest traffic is the reverse.

Which is easier to hand over to a client?

Shogun, generally. Its structured editor makes it harder for a non-designer to break a layout, which is exactly what you want when the person editing next has never opened a design tool.

This is a real consideration and it gets ignored in most comparisons because reviewers do not have to live with the handover. I do. A build that only I can maintain is a build that costs the client every time they want a price changed.

The verdict

ReploA small team, paid traffic, conversion is the whole point, and a designer is involved.
ShogunMultiple publishers, a need for approval workflow, and non-designers editing pages regularly.

Common questions

Is Replo cheaper than Shogun?

At comparable usage, usually yes. Shogun’s higher tiers are priced against traffic volume while Replo is priced against published pages, so a high-traffic store tends to pay Shogun more.

Does Shogun have A/B testing?

Not built into the page builder the way Replo does it. Testing on Shogun generally means adding a separate tool, which is an extra subscription and an extra integration to maintain.

Which page builder is best for a team?

Shogun, in most cases. Its structured editor and workflow features suit stores where several people publish pages and a non-designer may be editing next.

If the page matters more than the tool, I build it either way.
